Spiked hair is very common among boys. Spiked hair has been around for over 20 years, first coming into popularity with punk rockers in the late 70s and early 80s.  This hair style as stood the test of time, and even the modern woman can easily pull off a trendy spike hair style.  Here are the basic steps for creating a spike hair style.

Step 1: Towel dry just washed hair.

Step 2: Apply a hair cement, like Beyond the Zone Spike It Hair Cement to the hair on the crown of the head. Place some of the product on your hands and work from the scalp to the tip of the hair, twisting the hair at the top for greatest stability. Keep playing with spikes until you get the desired results.

Step 3: Set with a finishing spray to optimum holding results.

Step 4: Wait 10 minutes until the hair styling products have dried and hardened. The hair will be super hard and will last until the next shampoo.

TIPS:

For a more fun look, try hair cement with temporary die in it, like Beyond the Zone Spike It Hair Care Cement in metallics or colors.

This is a great option for kids that want to experiment with hair color, without the commitment or the chemicals associated with permanent hair die.
