If you like dressing up for Halloween and you need a quick, easy and cheap Halloween costume go for the gothic look! You probably have everything you need at home to make your gothic costume. If not, you can pick up what you need and it won't cost much! Step 1: THINK BLACK! When you start to design your gothic Halloween costume think of black. Black clothing. Black shoes. Black gloves. Black makeup. If you want to throw some color in the mix then pick dark shades of purple or blue. The darker the better. Or maybe you want a bright burst of color. If so, pick red or hot pink. Step 2: PICK A THEME! The fun part of a gothic Halloween costume is that you can turn any theme into a gothic theme. You can be a gothic nurse, a gothic bride, a gothic groom, a gothic vampire, a gothic cheerleader, a gothic witch, a gothic French maid, a gothic stripper (male or female), a gothic priest, a gothic nun, a gothic anything! Let your imagination run wild then start looking for the clothing you will wear. Step 3: GET YOUR CLOTHING! When designing your gothic costume just look for whatever black clothing you have at home. For women, any black dress can become part of a gothic costume. For men, any black suit or just a pair of black pants and black shirt is a good start. If you are not willing to cut or alter your clothing then hit the thrift shop or Goodwill and look for black clothing. Also look for any black accessories you may need such as gloves, shoes, etc. Step 4: GET YOUR MAKEUP! Then hit the makeup counter at Wal-Mart or any drug store. Buy a cheap black eye liner and some black mascara or pick up some long fake eyelashes. If you want some other color on your face then look for colorful eye shadow pencils. You may also want to buy a dark and dreary lip stick. Step 5: PAINT YOUR FACE! To decorate your face just think of big black eyes and dark lips. You can even make your lips black if you want or for a pouty lip look make your lips dark red then line them with black. You may also consider drawing some designs on your face for a more artistic gothic look. Step 6: GET DRESSED! After your makeup is done get dressed and you are ready to go! If you don't know what to do with your hair you can always just slick it down with some baby oil. It feels awful but it looks like pure goth! See my other helpful articles!
